CHENNAI: A total of 155 housing projects have been registered with the Tamil Nadu Real Estate Regulatory Authority (TNRERA) in 71 days, between January and March 12 this year. But the number of projects was 34 less compared to the same period in 2020 when 189 projects were registered in 71 days.
Data available with the TNRERA’s portal states that a chunk of these projects are located in the Chennai Metropolitan Area, Chengalpet, Kancheepuram and Tiruvallur districts.
As per the rules of Tamil Nadu Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Rules, 2017, all the ongoing housing projects with a minimum of eight units meant for sale must be registered with the state’s real estate regulator. Housing plots should also be registered with the TNRERA.
