Covid-19 in Tamil Nadu: Cases go up further | Chennai News


CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu added 5,441 cases and 23 deaths to its Covid-19 registry on Thursday. Case tally touched 9,20,827, and the death toll reached 12,863.
After 1,890 patients were discharged, there were 33,659 active cases.
While Chennai registered 1,752 new cases and 10 deaths, there were 473 cases and one death in Coimbatore and 465 cases and one death in Chengalpet. Trichy reported 213 new cases.
At least 32 people who travelled to Tamil Nadu tested positive. They included three people from the UAE and one from Qatar.
Among domestic travellers, seven people from West Bengal, five each from Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka, three each from Bihar and Delhi and one each from Punjab, Gujarat, Haryana, Jharkhand and Maharashtra tested positive for the viral infection.
Tamil Nadu tested 87,505 people for the viral infection on Friday and the total number of people tested reached 2,00,17,941.
