CHANDIGARH: In a bid to encash upon the Haryanvi population settled in poll bound Assam and West Bengal, the Haryana BJP has started dispatching its senior leaders to the two states for the purpose of campaigning.
According to information, 22 leaders who include MPs and other senior leaders have already been sent to Assam, while a team of 11 more leaders including MLAs, former MPs and ministers shall be sent to West Bengal as well.
“The leaders have been shortlisted on the demands raised by the Central election offices and campaigning committees. These too states have sizeable population of traders, farmers having roots in Haryana or directly or indirectly linked to Haryana. Even there are pockets of people from North India. Hence our leaders will campaign there,” said Dhankar,
As far as agenda is concerned, Modi ji, Yogi are some of the names to be reckoned with examples. BJP is indulging in the politics of development and taking the states to new heights. This is what they shall campaign for, said Dhankar further.
Dhankar denied that there was any delay in sending team to West Bengal. He said that since MLAs and ministers were busy in budget session, hence it took time for the party to decide upon the names.
Notably, BJP is the only national party which has sent teams to Assam and West Bengal. As on now, it was only the farmer leaders and members of Samyukt Kisan Morcha including Gurnam Singh Charuni, Rakesh Tikait, Yogendera Yadava who had been campaigning in the poll bound states against BJP so far.
While, Congress is yet to finalize its list from state to be dispatched for the poll bound states. Central Election Committee (CEC) of Congress has released the list of Star campaigners. Randeep Surjewala and Deepender Hooda are among those who shall be travelling to poll bound states.
