AMBALA: The special investigation team (SIT) of Ambala Police has managed to break through the mysterious murder case of Anil Kumar of Dhanana village in Ambala district, with the arrest of four accused persons including three men and a woman.
The police have arrested Himanshu alias Manshu and Kamaldeep alias Kamal of Patvi village in Ambala district, Sumit alias Vishal of Tasrauli village and a woman Aman of Dhanana village.
SIT in-charge Ambala Cantonment deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Ram Kumar told that all four accused were produced in the district court on Friday, which granted four-day police remand of Himanshu, Kamaldeep and Sumit, while it sent the woman to judicial custody.
As per the information, Anil Kumar, who worked as computer operator at Paras Hospital in Panchkula, was found murdered under mysterious circumstances in the jungle area of Shahzadpur on March 16.
On the complaint of Anil’s father, Ashok Kumar, a case was registered under Section 148 (rioting), 149 (unlawful assembly), 201 (causing disappearance of evidence) and 302 (punishment for murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Shahzadpur police station on March 16.
Ashok had raised suspicion on some residents of Dhanana village, however, the SIT investigation has found that angle to be false and established a new angle.
DSP Ram Kumar revealed, “Deceased Anil was once the boyfriend of accused woman Aman and now, she was in friendship with Himanshu. It has been revealed by arrested persons that Anil had some objectionable photos of the woman. They said Anil used to blackmail the woman on the basis of the concerned photos.”
“On March 14, the woman conspired with her present boyfriend Himanshu and called Anil to meet at Dhanana village at midnight at about 12 am through chatting. When Anil came to meet the woman, Himanshu along with co-accused Kamaldeep and Sumit had also come to Dhanana, caught Anil and asked to delete the photos. When Anil opposed, they had beaten him. They took him to the jungle area in Shahzadpur, where accused persons murdered him with gandaasis (sharp-edged axe like weapon) and dumped his body”, said DSP Ram Kumar.
DSP Ram Kumar said that all four wanted accused persons in this case are now behind bars and the suspicion initially raised by the family members of Anil is false.
