SHIMLA: Himachal Pradesh chief minister Jai Ram virtually launched ‘Chalo Chamba Campaign-2021’ in Shimla on Friday.
The CM also launched road signage to promote the campaign as a part of celebrations for 50 years of statehood – ‘Swarnim Himachal’.
While addressing the event, chief minister said that it would have been pleasure to be a part of this celebration, but the Covid-19 has forced the state hold the event virtually.
Thakur said that Chamba district was one of the most beautiful districts of the state with immense potential for tourism development.
The CM said that ‘Chalo Chamba Campaign’ aims to create self-employment opportunities for local people by expanding various tourism related activities across the district.
He said that Chamba has been included in the Centre’s aspirational districts scheme for ensuring alround development.
