District immunisation officer (DIO) Dr Meenu Sassan said 147 healthcare workers and 349 had also taken the dose. The incident commanders, the panchayat and women’s and child development officers helped the health department bring people to the vaccination sites.
Chief medical Officer (CMO) Dr Jasjeet Kaur said the 49 sites of the mega vaccination campaign included all community and primary health centres, Kalka sub-civil hospital, Marrawala health centre at Nanakpur, and the government schools of Kalka main market, Saketri, Haripur, Gharkhi Kotaha, and Khatoli Raipur Rani.
Shots were also given at the Ramgarh dispensary, ITBP’s Bhanu camp, Sector-21 dispensary, urban dispensary, Sector-16 urban health centre, Secor-26 polyclinic, Sector-4 Mansa Devi Complex, Sector-9 Ayush dispensary, command hospital, Burj Kotian subcentre, Sector-12-A community centre, Sector-6 Civil Hospital, Buddanpur gurdwara, and the Shiva temple of Bagwali.
The private hospital sites include Ojas, Paras, Raffel, Alchemist (for second dose), Malik Medical and Diagnostic, Radhi Devi Amravati, Dhawan, Emm Enn, Dr Trehan, Cloud Nine at MDC Sector-5, Chakravarti in Sector-10, Aditya Rattan Heart Line in Sector 6, and Panchkula welfare trust in MDC Sector 4.
So far, more than 47,141 people have, received Covid-19 vaccine in the district. The two categories of 60-plus and 45-59 with comorbidities can sign up for the shots on the portal https://selfregistration.cowin.gov.in/ and, I case of any problem, visit the nearest health centre with a valid ID. The campaign will continue on Tuesday.
The administration has set a target of covering 1 lakh people a month in the mega vaccination campaign every Monday and Tuesday.
