Seven Hills Hospital in Mumbai packed beyond capacity

With cases of COVID 19 increasing, the city’s largest hospital for COVID 19 – Seven Hills is packed beyond capacity.

On Wednesday, Mumbai had 2377 cases of COVID and eight deaths.

Dr Balkrishna Adsul who heads the Seven Hills facility said, “My hospital which has 1550 beds is full and people are waiting for admission.’’

But BMC officers said that there are enough beds available. On Thursday, additional commissioner Suresh Kakani will be visiting six wards.

COVID is also spreading widely in Vidarbha. In Kalyan Dombivali, there were 593 cases on Wednesday. The state including all metros had 23179 cases and 4 deaths. In Nagpur, the government has imposed a lockdown while in Mumbai, a night curfew could be introduced.

Mumbai city guardian minister Aslam Sheikh said that wherever cases are increasing night curfew will be required. The areas also will be needed to be sealed off.
