AHMEDABAD: A 26-year-old woman from the Memco area of the city on Wednesday filed a complaint against a man and four of his family members, including two women, for attacking her and her husband after she turned down his proposal.
Sejal Parmar, 26, a resident of the Premnagar locality in Memco, in her FIR with Shaherkotda police said that the accused, Jayendra Parmar, 25, had been pursuing her to enter a relationship with him for the past15 days.
Sejal said Jayendra approached her on Monday evening when she went to a vegetable market and asked her why she was not accepting his proposal. When Sejal refused to talk with him, he began abusing her and she called out to her husband, Jayesh, for help. Jayesh, who was waiting outside the market for Sejal, rushed in on hearing his wife’s screams and warned Jayendra not to harass his wife.
Jayendra then began abusing and thrashing Jayesh and also slapped Sejal. While defending himself, Jayesh pushed Jayendra, causing him to fall and suffer injuries. After this, Jayendra went to hospital but his family members rushed to Sejal and Jayesh’ house and attacked them, the FIR states.
