Tamil Nadu: Duo held for grabbing land worth Rs 1 crore | Chennai News

CHENNAI: The Central Crime Branch (CCB) sleuths have arrested two men for grabbing 2,600 sq ft land in Chithalapakkam worth Rs 1 crore from a woman using forged documents.
A police source said that the accused M Sasikumar, 48, of Chromepet and M Abdul Kadar, 41, of Anna Nagar had several land grabbing cases pending against them and added that they would pledge the fraudulent sale deeds in banks and obtain loans.
In 2016, the duo registered a fake power of attorney for the 2,600 sq ft land using impersonators and forged documents and sold it to another person.
The complainant never knew about the other transactions of her property.
The victim who recently came to know about the cheating filed a complaint with the CCB and the anti-land grabbing wing registered a case.
After investigation, police arrested the duo and remanded them in judicial custody.
A police said that Sasikumar got a power of attorney in his name, while Abdul Kathar signed as a witness in the documents.
