PRAYAGRAJ: Three people died while around ten others have been injured when a boiler, at the plant of Indian Farmers Fertilizer Cooperative Limited’s (IFFCO) Phulpur unit in Prayagraj, exploded on Tuesday.
According to the public relation officer (PRO), IFFCO, Phulpur, Sanjay Mishra, “One of the steam boilers of the plant have exploded because of which one of the daily wager, Pradeep has died. Around half a dozen labours have been referred to Swarup Rani Hospital (SRN) of Motilal Nehru medical college of the city and condition of two is serious”.
Along with this, around half a dozen other persons are being treated at the health centre of the plant, located within the premises of IFFCO, Ghiyanagar, Phulpur.
Sources inform that numbers of death could go up as the condition of few of the labourers is serious.
This is the second incident within the last three months at IFFCO as it was on December 23 when there was a leakage in the ammonia gas because of which two officials had died while around a dozen were injured.
The two more deceased are Ajay and Babuji of Karchana.
